Inside Chime Cut Models
Wizard GS, GA,
and RGA units and WIZ-Kid units
Inside
chime cut models are ideal for general industrial use; where a USDA
approved cutting method is not required, and drums will not necessarily
be crushed or reconditioned after deheading. Chimes are left as strong
as possible for future drum re-use. Remove the top or bottom lid of
an empty or filled 30-55 gallon steel drum.
How they work...
Inside chime cut models cut through the first layer of steel on the
inside of the drum chime. Once cut, the drum lid can be removed by hand.
(A rubber mallet and safety gloves are recommended for this purpose). |

Outside Chime
Cut Models
Wizard FS, FA, RFA, HDFS,
HDFA, HDRFA, HS, and HA units
Outside
chime cut models are ideal in food applications, or anywhere a USDA-approved
cutting method is required. Protect drum contents from contamination.
Lid stays in place until lifted off with a cover lifter (included) and
can be re-used as a cover. Use with 30-55 gallon steel drums.
How
they work... Outside chime cut models cut through the first layer
of steel on the outside of the drum chime. Once cut, the drum lid can
be easily removed with a cover lifter (included with model). |

Outside Shell Cut Models
Models Wizard JS, JA,
and RJA units
Outside
shell cut models are ideal in applications where a drum will be crushed,
flattened, or reconditioned after deheading. Remove the entire top or
bottom to facilitate disposition. Use with 30-55 gallon steel drums.
How
they work... Outside shell cut models cut through the first layer
of steel on the outside of the drum, just below the chime. Once cut,
the entire drum top (or bottom) can be easily removed by hand. (Safety
gloves are recommended for this purpose). |
Manual units are
recommended when drum volume is low (fewer than 25 drums per week).
Manual
deheader and WIZ-Kid
Manual.
"Electric" units are ideal when drum volume is moderate to
high (more than 25 drums per week). These self-propelled units minimize
operator effort and strain. The fastest deheading method. WIZ-Kid
Electric, GS,
JS,
FS,
HDFS,
and HS
Models.
"Air" (pneumatic)
units are for moderate to high drum volumes (more than 50 per week).
They are ideal in applications where electrical power is unavailable
or less convenient than air, or to lessen the possibility of sparking. GA,
JA,
FA,
HDFA,
and HA.
"Automatic Air"
(pneumatic) units are the most automated deheaders available; the cutter
wheel/drive roller gap is narrowed automatically by air pressure rather
than manually with a T-Bar handle. Recommended for moderate to high
drum volumes (more than 50 drums per week). RGA,
RJA,
RFA,
and HDRFA.
Burr-free cut:
All Wizard deheaders feature a burr-free edge, except for the "Manual
Deheader". Minimize sparking: Non-ferrous cutter wheels or blades
are available with most manual and pneumatic units. |
